Call for papers on the topic of "Media and Ethics-Morality" to appear in the eighth issue of the Turkish Journal of Business Ethics
Turkish Journal of Business Ethics, a publication in which thoughts and experiences in the field of business ethics can be shared, has produced 7th issue up to now. The Journal was started in 2008 by Economic Enterprise and Business Ethics Association [İktisadi Girişim ve İş Ahlakı Derneği (İGİAD)] and produces two issues a year (May and November); as a peer-reviewed journal the Turkish Journal of Business Ethics has brought a breath of fresh air to publications on business ethics in Turkey.
The 8th issue of the Turkish Journal of Business Ethics, which invites international contributions, is dedicated to the topic "MEDIA and ETHICS-MORALITY". Within the framework of this topic, articles, introductory works, and reviews written with a critical approach are invited and will be included in the journal; such articles should:
- Analyze the philosophic-intellectual traditions in the subject of media and ethics-morality along with taking into consideration historical experiences,
- Debate notions such as "ethics", "media ethics", "media morality", etc. within a theoretical frame and in the context of the expression of media ethics,
- Comparatively review the position of the media in the mechanism of the modern political system and the topic of ethics,
- Analyze the topic of ethics-morality in fields like political communication-PR, advertising, the entertainment sector in that they provide content to the media and other related fields, without limiting this to the function of media as a reporting device,
- Comparatively debate the issue of the institutionalization of the media in Turkey with global examples, pursuant to the determination – declaration of the principles of broadcasting, transparency, accountability and principles as such,
- Analyze the perception of ethics-morality of media professionals and their style of reasoning as a practice of their profession,
- Take into consideration and analyze the media users/consumers in terms of the practice of the profession and as part of the subject of media and ethics-morality,
- Present theoretical and practical approaches regarding the legal, administrative, and vocational supervisions of the internet and new media in connection with attempts to introduce the pre-existing global and local legal regulations,
- Analyze the media supervisory systems globally and in Turkey pursuant to legal, administrative and vocational aspects,
- Review the media order in Turkey within the scope of employment, job security, in-house administrative mechanisms, etc., within the dimension of "business ethics",
- Analyze the topics of political-bureaucratic-social order, media and ethics-morality in Turkey,
- Present theories and practical insights about the issue of the media and ethics-morality in Turkey,
The Turkish Journal of Business Ethics is a publication in which quality academic articles from different disciplines are published after undergoing a thorough referee process; articles that examine the historical experience from a critical approach, which produce new ideas, techniques and analyses, and which set out from practice to analyze the results of relevant research are all given priority. Within this framework, the researchers and academics who consider sending articles to be published in the 8th Issue should ensure that their articles reach us by 30th of September 2011 at the latest.
